AUTUMN IN TAMWORTH & NEW ENGLAND – 5 DAY TOUR
AUTUMN IN TAMWORTH & NEW ENGLAND – 5 DAY TOUR
THURSDAY 20 TO MONDAY 24 MAY 2021
This tour certainly has a bit of everything for everybody … arriving in Tamworth in the afternoon, this town famous for all things country music will be our home for the next 4 nights. The New England district is as pretty as picture this time of the year with trees ablaze in red, yellow and orange, Autumn is the perfect time to visit. Whilst in Tamworth it would be remiss if we didn’t visit the Walk a Country Mile and the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Big Golden Guitar Centre, home to the National Guitar Museum.
But this tour is not just about country music, we visit Werris Creek, said to be Australia’s first railway town, with a tour of the Australian Railway Monument & Railways Journey Museum. We will visit Walcha, New England’s oldest town and enjoy an indulgent high tea at Langford Homestead. This grand homestead was built in 1903 consists of 22 rooms, a 5 storey central tower, and is on the original site of explorer John Oxley’s campsite. All this and more whilst enjoying the magical and breathtaking colours of Autumn … (Image courtesy Tamworth Regional Council)
